Our Friends
Early Iron at JBA for Joint Tour March 19, 2011
Posted by btucker on March 19th, 2011
JBA welcomed the Antique Automobile Club of America and the Studebaker Drivers Club to our facility in Kearny Mesa for a joint tour. J. Bittle escorted approx 50 attendees through the shop, including the showroom, garages and machine shop. A sweet 1967 Mustang was on JBA’s chassis dyno being tuned so a dyno pull was performed for the tour. Next the group watched as ace machinist John Elderhorst ran a Ford 427 FE engine on JBA’s DTS engine dyno. Both groups brought out a great collection of early iron. Check out the pictures for more of the story.
- J. Bittle explains the history of big block Fords.
- Machinist John runs a big Ford FE motor up to 6,200 rpm on the engine dyno.
JBA Coffee & Cars March 13, 2011
Posted by btucker on March 13th, 2011
Despite losing an hour of sleep (damn daylight savings), we had another excellent turnout for Coffee & Cars…maybe the best yet! Check out the righteous 1937 Diamond T truck that Bob and Bill brought over from Cornado. The coffee has gotten better (thanks J!), the donuts are still phat, and the bench racing remains fresh! JBA’s parking lot doubled as a burnout box as the faithful departed (kids these days!). Click here for a video 1969 Camaro Burnout and check out the attached images for more of the story! -bt
