Bombin’ turn-out for the January 2012 edition of JBA’s Coffee & Cars! Featuring the most vehicles we’ve ever had at one of our Sunday morning get-togethers, cars overflowed our huge parking area into neighboring lots. Blue skies and burn-outs! Check out the pictures and note the wide range of vehicles, including a 1933 Riley right-hand drive sports car, an early ’50′s Chevy gasser, members of the San Diego Car Enthusiasts Club, a very strong Mopar contingent, new and old GTO’s, Chevelles, Corvettes, Cobras, Mustangs and much more. Coffee and Cars at JBA Round 2

It’s noon on Sunday October 10, 2010 and round 2 of Coffee and Cars at JBA is in the books. Held the 2nd Sunday of each month, it’s an excuse to get out of the house early to exercise you’re favorite steed and still get home in time for NASCAR or the Chargers. Running from dawn to 10am, it features free donuts, coffee and lots of cool cars to look at and talk about. It’s a laid-back opportunity for car-guys and car-gals to show off their rides. J. Bittle American 1st Annual Power Festival

On Sunday August 1, JBA celebrated its 25th Anniversary with its first annual Power Festival, Open Show & Cruise. The event also served as the grand opening for JBA’s new expanded facility at 5675 Kearny Villa Road, San Diego, CA 92123. The day featured a major car show/cruise, tours, a raffle, prizes, models, engine and chassis dyno demonstrations, a vendor gallery, food, music by Don Swanson & the Retro Rocketts, and pinstriping by Kong. JBA’s customers turned out in force with hot rods, race cars, customs, classics and late-models. JBA also displayed current project cars, staff rides and several examples of JBA’s new GreenSpeedCo technology. The parking lot was packed early and reinforcements continued to cruise in all day. Much thanks to the Mustang Club, Shelby Club, Mopar Club and Pontiac Club who all helped out by controlling the parking areas. Thanks also to our vendors, but most of all, to our customers who it made it such a great day! This collection of pictures features mostly shots from the parking areas around the building. Boss 302 – Original Style, Aftermarket Power

Steve Farkas has owned his Boss 302 for over 30 years and drives like it was meant too!
As an airline pilot Steve expects maximum power when he demands it and he turned to JBA for just that requirement.
Designing a 347 Boss 302 before it was popular Steve’s Boss in basically concourse appearance put out 467 flywheel horsepower with manifolds and stock ignition.

The Balanced and Blueprinted four bolt main Boss block has a steel crank and h-beam rods with and NOS balancer and flywheel.
Ported heads and a solid lifer camshaft allow the 7000+ RPM power band to tear up the competition. Steve’s attention to detail makes his Boss 302 a real show winner too! —

AJ Bittle Battles in AutoX

Check out the video I made on YouTube from last Sunday as I take on the AutoX competition at the Texas A&M Sports Car Club’s 2nd race of the Spring semester! Some of the turns were pretty tight but I managed to swing the old Cobra around and take away a trophy for 5th place out of 17 competitors in the Street Tire Mod (STM) class and was only 0.342 seconds from 4th. I have the video’s from my 3 other runs from different camera angles so I may post those up later when I have time, but until then enjoy, and Gig’em Ags!

More Around the Shop

So I went cruisin all around the shop the other day and snapped some pictures I thought I’d share with y’all. I found some customers being helped up front in the showroom…I also ran into John (our Master Engine Builder) and Tim (Lead Tech) pulling a small block out of a customers Buick GS. Looked like they were getting ready to hoist it onto an engine stand so John and Aaron can disassemble it and begin a rebuild. I found a few other mechanics doing some general maintanence as well as finding a Sprint Car set up for the street! I think the sprint car was getting some dyno tuning done. A few more long term porjects were around too like the ’68 Stingray and ’56 Thunderbird. Anyways, I just thought I’d show y’all whats going on at JBA!

JBA Mustang in East Texas

Well I went down to the local 1/8 mile dragstrip just 20 minutes south of me and made a few passes in the old ’69 Mach 1. I couldn’t get much traction but I plan on returning soon to hopefully hook up and make some clean runs, maybe even head a little farther south to the 1/4 Mile track in Sealy! For now I just made this short little video clip of the 1/8 mile run in Navasota,TX….Check it out and let me know what you think!!!

Mighty Dave’s 331 Supercharged Stroker

Dave’s 331 for his 1965 Mustang will be pounding the pavement and the high desert tracks soon. With a new combination his pump gas naturally aspirated small block made 390+ HP with our breakin carb on the DTS. Then with 9lbs of boost 561+horsepower at 6100RPM and climbing. Good job everyone!
